Members: The 2011 Canadian Open Championships are coming up soon.
This year, to honour those in our paddle community who have been touched by cancer, we are making the event a charitable one – in support of Wellspring – a support centre for cancer patients and their families. You can learn more about Wellspring and the great work they do at www.wellspring.ca
Tournament Sponsors include:
PT Pro Balls
Steamwhistle Breweries
Iceberg Vodka
The Longest Yard
We are planning a Men’s A & B Draw and Women’s A Draw (we encourage women of all levels to play however – past numbers from this event typically do not allow for an A & B Draw for Women).
The Saturday night party will be at The Longest Yard and we encourage everyone – players or not – to join us!
Finals for all rounds will be on Sunday – rest of play will take place during day on Saturday.
This is our ‘unofficial’ season ending event and we get lots of players from Niagara and the U.S., so let’s see some great participation from our Toronto based teams as well.
Please plan to come out for the finals on Sunday – times will be circulated later.
It’s a great chance to see some incredible Paddle and introduce your friends to the game.
Deadline for signups is Tuesday, March 22 – but please get your entries in early so we can plan for Tshirts, food, etc.
You can sign up at the Club (poster will go up this weekend) or by emailing Suzanne – slanthier@autismspeaks.org
Women’s 45+ Canadian Open Tournament
This event is taking place on Saturday – any other ladies wishing to sign up must do so before 12 noon tomorrow (Thursday) by emailing Suzanne at slanthier@autismspeaks.org
